Description

I chose to download and update the Docker Desktop through the app after starting it up. I clicked on the button to "Install & Restart" after the download finishes. Nothing happens after that & when I try to open Docker Desktop I realised it is missing in my system. Running the command docker --version was returned with "The term 'docker' is not recognized".

Searching online I came across issue #14299 but it was already closed.

Update: After reinstalling Docker Desktop, the Notifications showed several warnings:

• An unexpected occured while updating. Restart Docker Desktop to try again.
• Extensions. Failed to fetch extensions.
• An unexpected error occurred. Restart Docker Desktop.

Reproduce

1. Click on the update notification on Docker Desktop.
2. After the download finishes click on the "Install and Restart".
3. Docker Desktop closes and nothing happens.
4. Docker is missing from Windows.

Expected behavior

Docker Desktop to reopen after being updated to the latest version.
