We just finished a lengthy integration at my company that transitions our internal tooling to the DTCG token spec with Amazon Style Dictionary. Somewhere between the time we prototyped the change and built it, a breaking change was introduced in the schema. This is our mistake not realizing the dimension token was is now an object. However, I think it's fair to say that it is easy to miss.

There is an active issue open for this with Amazon Style Dictionary. I went back to see if there was a miss in our read of the documentation and their documentation still states that it has first class support for the standard and links to the page that has the current version of the DTCG schema. The reason I mention this, is that there should be some way for them to change their documentation to point to a schema version level that is supported.

So my proposal is that a semantic version be added to the documentation, with the ability to reference specific revisions of the DTCG spec.
