Aging Services work closely with Iowa's six Area Agencies on Aging and other partners to design a system of information, education, support and services for Iowans that assists them in maintaining their independence. As of July 1, 2023 the Department on Aging is part of the Department of Health and Human Services.

Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) can assist older adults, adults with disabilities, veterans and their caregivers, to coordinate a wide range of long-term living and community support services.
Authorize representatives to disclose information about a centenarian to the Iowa Department on Aging.
Authorize the Iowa Department on Aging to enter information about you into the Iowa Centenarian Registry
Meal program for those age 60 or older, their spouses, and, in some cases, those younger than age 60 with disabilities.
Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman (Advocate for residents/tenants living in Iowa's long-term care facilities, as well as for Medicaid managed care members who receive care in a health care facility, assisted living program or elder group home and/or who are enrolled in a Medicaid home and community-based services (HCBS) waiver program.
Enroll in the program to receive weekly social or reassurance calls from RSVP volunteers if you are 60+ in select Iowa counties.
