5,000+ legacy cloud provider tables migrated to BigQuery
23+ S3 data volumes transferred to Cloud Storage
200+ applications migrated to Google Kubernetes Engine for improved scaling
20+ databases migrated to Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, and Bigtable
60–70TB of data transferred from CSP storage layer to Cloud Storage
Zoomcar, India's largest car-sharing marketplace, moved its data warehousing and analytics to Google Cloud to overcome performance bottlenecks and scale effectively. The migration improved data processing, optimized costs, and enhanced overall operational efficiency.
Google Cloud's expertise in Kubernetes and big data, combined with the emergence of AI, made it the clear choice for our transition to an AI and data-first organization.

SVP, Head of Engineering, Zoomcar
As a company that provides 25k+ car-sharing solutions to a growing customer base across more than 99+ cities, Zoomcar needs to harness accurate and accessible data in real time. However, the company’s previous cloud provider required frequent upgrades and premium support costs, and lacked multi-year commitments, which resulted in inconsistent pricing.
Moreover, Zoomcar’s data operations relied on systems that couldn’t scale as needed, making full cluster expansion cumbersome and inefficient. This rigidity meant that as Zoomcar's data grew, its infrastructure couldn't easily adapt, leading to bottlenecks and potential performance issues.
To overcome these issues, Zoomcar partnered with Niveus Solutions to migrate 5,000 CSP tables to BigQuery, PySpark jobs to Dataproc, 60-70TB of data to Cloud Storage, and 20+ databases to Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, and Bigtable, while integrating various data sources.
As an existing Google Cloud customer, Zoomcar trusted the platform for its performance, scalability, and integrations. Unifying data with BigQuery and storing it with Cloud Storage provided a more adaptable compute layer, while consolidating solutions with Google Cloud offered a more cost-effective, performative, and stable system for Zoomcar’s production services. Another factor that made Google Cloud a good choice was its inherent expertise in Kubernetes, the platform for all of Zoomcar’s mission-critical services.
Additionally, as a developer-friendly platform, Google Cloud empowers Zoomcar's developers to efficiently build, customize, and manage their applications and infrastructure, leading to better productivity and system engagement.
The developer-friendly environment of Google Cloud and the ability to customize solutions have been key to improving our overall operational efficiency and performance.
