Full PostgreSQL compatibility

AlloyDB Omni is fully compatible with PostgreSQL, so existing applications will run unchanged. It uses standard PostgreSQL drivers and provides full compatibility with PostgreSQL extensions and flags. You can use standard tools for migration, replication, and database operations, such as backups.

Fast transactional processing

AlloyDB Omni is powered by the same engine that underlies the cloud-based AlloyDB service, so you can use it to modernize your legacy databases in place as part of your cloud journey. In our performance tests, AlloyDB Omni is more than 2x faster (and with atomic I/O, up to 4x faster) than standard PostgreSQL for transactional workloads.

Real-time business insights

Get insights on your operational data without copying it to a data warehouse. AlloyDB Omni includes the AlloyDB columnar engine, which keeps frequently queried data in an in-memory columnar format for faster performance on business intelligence, reporting, and hybrid transactional and analytical processing (HTAP) workloads. In our performance tests, AlloyDB Omni delivers up to 100x faster analytical queries than standard PostgreSQL.

Built-in generative AI

AlloyDB AI offers high-performance, pgvector-compatible search that runs up to 4x faster vector search queries and up to 10x faster filtered vector search queries than the standard PostgreSQL HNSW index. It helps you generate vector embeddings from within your database, query across SQL and vector data, integrate with orchestration frameworks, and access AI models on Vertex AI or any other platform.

With AlloyDB Omni, you can accelerate your modernization initiatives with the support of a Tier 1 provider. Google Cloud offers full enterprise support, including 24/7 technical support and software updates for security patches and new features. AI-driven management

Automatic vacuum and memory management eliminate some of the most difficult database management chores. An index advisor helps optimize frequently run queries by conducting a deep analysis of the different parts of a query, periodically analyzing your workload, and recommending new indexes that can increase query performance.

Monitoring and observability

AlloyDB Omni generates detailed statistics you can use to optimize performance of transactional queries, analytical queries, vector queries, and database replication. You also have a choice of built-in and external monitoring tools to monitor your instance.
