In the circles I travel in, I recently learned and proudly accept that I am the “Club 92 Tech/Travel/Culture Queen.” It gives me great pleasure to share the EatOkra app as my #1 go-to, ride-or-die app since its inception in beta mode because it ALWAYS gives info for great restaurants and food sources for this foodie to share with others to help them #BuyBlack and #BuyLocal.NOTE: I’m a verified user. I received no compensation for this review. I do not know or nor have I ever met the app creators, but I am a ‘fan lady’ who cheers them on, watches their interviews, and glows in their success! This app is a post-COVID pandemic success story. #SpreadTheWord #MichelesGreenBook

A Reve
Because so frequently Black businesses and hidden by algorithms, and buried under price gouging efforts to oppress the owners, and because Black (and brown) consumers are so frequently treated poorly in establishments run by folks who don’t look like us it is so valuable to be able to find places to eat that feel like safe community. All while making sure we’re able to help keep them in business. Finding the hidden gems that would usually only be known by the locals can be a true spirit boost when you’re traveling or you’ve recently relocated to a new town.

Ignore those saying this app is racist, ironically they are proving why an app like this is important. This app has been great, I’ve been using it when I travel across the US and I’m glad I’m able to give back to the community hit hardest by the economy. Recently, my only issue is when I click search and then on the map icon, the app crashes. This is my favorite way to find places, can you please fix this?
