Les modèles Gemini peuvent traiter des documents au format PDF en utilisant la vision native pour comprendre l'intégralité du contexte des documents. Cela va au-delà de la simple extraction de texte, ce qui permet à Gemini de :

  • Analyser et interpréter du contenu, y compris du texte, des images, des diagrammes, des graphiques et des tableaux, même dans des documents longs (jusqu'à 1 000 pages).
  • Extraire des informations dans des formats de sortie structurée.
  • Résumer et répondre à des questions en se basant à la fois sur les éléments visuels et textuels d'un document.
  • Transcrivez le contenu d'un document (par exemple, au format HTML), en conservant la mise en page et la mise en forme, pour l'utiliser dans des applications en aval.

Transmettre des données PDF intégrées

Vous pouvez transmettre des données PDF intégrées dans la requête à generateContent. Pour les charges utiles PDF de moins de 20 Mo, vous pouvez choisir d'importer des documents encodés en base64 ou d'importer directement des fichiers stockés localement.

Importer des PDF à l'aide de l'API File

Vous pouvez utiliser l'API File pour importer des documents plus volumineux. Utilisez toujours l'API File lorsque la taille totale de la requête (y compris les fichiers, l'invite de texte, les instructions système, etc.) est supérieure à 20 Mo.

Détails techniques

Gemini accepte un maximum de 1 000 pages de document. Chaque page de document équivaut à 258 jetons.

Bien qu'il n'y ait pas de limite spécifique au nombre de pixels dans un document en dehors de la fenêtre de contexte du modèle, les pages plus grandes sont réduites à une résolution maximale de 3 072 x 3 072 tout en conservant leur format d'origine, tandis que les pages plus petites sont agrandies à 768 x 768 pixels. Il n'y a pas de réduction des coûts pour les pages de taille inférieure, à l'exception de la bande passante, ni d'amélioration des performances pour les pages de résolution supérieure.

Types de documents

Techniquement, vous pouvez transmettre d'autres types MIME pour la compréhension des documents, comme TXT, Markdown, HTML, XML, etc. Toutefois, la vision des documents ne comprend que les PDF. Les autres types seront extraits sous forme de texte brut, et le modèle ne pourra pas interpréter ce que nous voyons dans le rendu de ces fichiers. Toutes les spécificités liées au type de fichier, comme les graphiques, les diagrammes, les balises HTML, la mise en forme Markdown, etc., seront perdues.

Pour des résultats optimaux, procédez comme suit :

  • Faites pivoter les pages dans la bonne orientation avant de les importer.
  • Évitez les pages floues.
  • Si vous utilisez une seule page, placez la requête textuelle après la page.
